Our local grassroots effort helps those in need who are living within our 5 County area (Warren, Halifax and Northampton counties in North Carolina, as well as Brunswick and Mecklenburg counties in Virginia). Every time you donate, you join in the effort to help a specific person overcome unique access, mobility, or driving challenge(s).
You can see stories of some of the Friends we have helped on our Ramp and Transportation pages. Sometimes heartwarming. Sometimes heartbreaking. But always, donations and volunteer time well spent.
The majority of our grant funding is specifically designated for Seniors (age 60) or over. Much of our grant funding is likewise restricted for use only within one of the 5 Counties or 2 States mentioned above in which we work. Unrestricted individual donations are what give us the much-needed flexibility to help those in need within our footprint regardless of where they live or even if they fail to meet the over age 60 requirement.
